| DOMLEC's NEW PREPAID POWER PLATFORMJUICE |
- JUICE is Domlec’s new Pay As U Go (PAUG) system replacing Suprima which served the company and its customers for 7years. Suprima, a prepaid utility system out of South Africa, did not wholly support the customer’s demand for easier and on demand access to purchasing power. In response, Domlec Information Technology Department took the initiative to address the problem and find a lasting solution to those challenges for both the customer and the company. Here is a simple view of the process.
Suprima prepaid (Pay As U Go) system installed in October 2003. Ingenico terminals called PV'II were the primary device used to sell power at the vendor’s location using dial up connections to the server. Frequent connections problems were experienced
IT Department devised a way to have vendors connect to Suprima via computers instead and assisted vendors with internet service and computers where necessary to accommodate customers quickly. This improved access to prepaid services at the vendors but most of the limitations remained.
IT Department partnered with Utilisol to develop, test and implement the JUICE system.
December 2009, JUICE was installed at Domlec and training on usage of the system was started
January 31st, 2010, Suprima was shut down permanently as Domlec’s PAUG system and Juice began its role as Domlec’s new and improved system. Read on to learn of the benefits this initiative brings to customers.
